How to Spot Worn Brakes
All brakes contain special friction materials, referred to as pads or shoes, that keep the metal of your callipers from grinding against – and damaging – the metal of your rotors.
As you increase the use of your brakes, their lifespan shortens.
Stop by your local Quick Lane to service your brakes if you notice any of the following:
- Squeaks or grinding
- A burning odour
- Difficulty pressing your pedal or a ‘squishy’ feeling upon pressing
- Shuddering or vibrating when you use your steering wheel
- Rusting or flaking in your brakes or rotors
- Your brake warning light coming on
